T&M THANKSGIVING 11-22-12
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified Yahvah, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. Lk 17:15-16
Thankfulness is foundation to the Religious life. Thankfulness is a conscious response that comes from looking beyond our blessings to their source. As Religious people, we have been forgiven, saved from death, and adopted as Yahvah's children. There could be no better reason for a grateful heart!
Lepers in Yahvahosha's day were social outcasts. Their highly contagious condition ostracized them from those they loved. When ten lepers encountered Yahvahosha, they desperately implored Him to show mercy. Yahvahosha sent them to the priest. As they obeyed, they were healed! These ten men had been forbidden to enter their own villages, to live in their own homes, to work in their own jobs, or even to touch their own children. Imagine what unrestrained joy must have filled them as they ran back home again!
One of the lepers, a Samaritan, stopped and ran back to thank Yahvahosha. Samaritans were normally shunned by the Jews, but Yahvahosha had healed him! Yahvahosha asked him, "Where are the others?" Ten lepers had been healed. Ten lepers were reveling in their newfound health. Ten men were joyfully rushing to share the good news with those they loved. But only one considered the Source of that Blessing and stopped to thank and worship the One who had given him back his life.
We too, have been healed and made whole by the Saviour. We are free to enjoy the abundant life the Saviour has graciously given us. Could we, like the nine lepers, rush off so quickly to glory in our blessings without stopping to thank our Redeemer? Yahvah looks for our thanks. Our worship, prayers, service, and daily life ought to be saturated with thanksgiving to Yahvah (Phil 4:6).
PRAYER: FATHER, WE COME TO YOU ON THIS THANKSGIVING DAY TO GIVE YOU THE PRAISE FOR OUR SALVATION, LIFE, HEALTH, STRENGTH, FRIENDS, FAMILIES, FOOD, CLOTHING, HOMES, CARS AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU HAVE GIVEN TOO US. WE LIFT OUR HANDS AND WE DO PRAISE YOUR RIGHTEOUS NAME! WE ARE THANKFUL THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF US, JUST LIKE YOU WERE THE TEN LEPERS, AND ONLY ONE CAME BACK TO PRAISE HIM AND THANK HIM. HELP US NOT TO BE LIVE THE NINE THAT NEVER BOTHERED TO RETURN TO SAY SOMETHING OF THANKS. YOU DO SO MANY THINGS FOR US, AND ARE WE ALWAYS THANKFUL? RIGHT NOW, WE SAY THANK YOU FOR DYING ON THE STAKE FOR OUR SINS, AND YOU COVERED US WITH YOUR BLOOD THAT DAY OVER 2,000 YEARS AGO. YOU DID NOT HAVE TO DIE FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD, BUT YOU DID YAHVAHOSHA, AND WE SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE PRAISE YOU THAT WE HAVE LIVED SO SEE ANOTHER DAY, STILL CLOTHED IN OUR RIGHT MINDS, WITH THE MIND TO STILL PRAISE YOU AND WORSHIP YOU AND HONOR YOU ON THIS THANKSGIVING DAY. WE ALSO WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK YOU FOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHOM GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR US THAT WE MIGHT HAVE THE FREEDOM TO LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY, AND TO BE ABLE TO GIVE OUR PRAISE OF THANKSGIVING. FATHER, WE LOVE YOU AND WE ARE BLESSED, BECAUSE YOU FIRST LOVED US, AND ON THIS THANKSGIVING DAY, HELP US TO BE MINDFUL OF EVERY BLESSING YOU HAVE EVER GIVEN US DOWN THROUGH OUR SHORT LIVES HERE ON THIS EARTH. AND AS WE LET US ALL PRAY NOW: "OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME. THY KINGDOM COME. THY WILL BE DONE EVEN IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD. AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE ALSO FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS. AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL, FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER. HALLELUYAH!
HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING AND REMEMBER TO THANK YAHVAH FOR IT. Bro. Doc

@heavenskye - Yes, we are blessed People Sis. Rhonda, and at time we do not even realize it. Just like I was thinking I was blessed to have Keye (key) for 19 years, and 17 without my wife after she died and he and I were together. But you know I have the memories for a wonderful dog, and a good friend. Maybe one day I will get another dog, I do not know. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving. Bro. Doc
Thanks Pastor for message and prayer.
Blessings,
Frank
Amen Doc!
This year has been a wild ride for me and the family. I have so much to be thankful for. Most of all I thank God for healing me.
I had been ill for some years, and slowly getting worse. Today, I can walk without stumbling, talk without stammering, and most of all I can think without having all these rambling thoughts. 2 weeks ago Amanda & Brad (my oldest daughter and her husband) bought a new house. My husband has a job he loves. I could just go on and on, Praise God for all his blessings!
