@HUMOR_ME_NOW - I suppose in Dr. S.'s day Bro. Frank, his way of writing was easy to understand. I have learned unless Yahvah tells me to give someone money, or someone in our Assembly has a hardship, I don't. This is why I do not carry money. If I need cash for something I go get the amount I need and then get it. Because on a couple of the busy streets I walk to the Grocery Store there are panhandlers so that is why no money. If I need the middle of the block Mom & Pop's store I use the ATM there. They only deal in cash. Bro. Doc
@Lewis1122 - This is the way we should loan Bro. Lewis, because 99.9% of the time we will never see it. Just like when I loaned in 1988 a Sister money to pay her rent or get kicked out, I did. She signed an agreement to pay so much a month and if not 25 dollars would be added each month. I figured it up the other day in seeing the signed note. She would owe me nearly 1,700 dollars. But it is ok, she will answer to Yahvah one day. Bro. Doc
That is true Bro Doc, so the word tells us how to avoid it, when I loan I loan as if I will never get it back in that way I never give it any thought.
As usual, a confusing way to write by Spurgeon. My wife loves him, but I like guys who use easy to understand language.
However, I loaned money twice--to a deacon and relative. Neither paid me back, so I forgave the debt. Now I do not loan money (my wife does). If someone seems to need financial help, I will just give them what I can afford. I am certain my wife has loaned money that will never be paid back.
