  • SABBATH SERMON “TWO BABYLONS PART II” PREACHED 4-30-13

    TWO BABYLONS Part II

    Jeremiah 50:1-3,9,13  The word that Yahvah spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of he Chaldeans, by Jeremyah the prophet. Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed; her images are put to shame, her idols are dismayed. For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and no one shall dwell in it: they have fled, they are gone, both man and beast. For, lo, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of an expert mighty man; none shall return in vain. Because of the wrath of Yahvah she shall be not inhabited, but she  shall be wholly desolate: every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

    (Comment: Ancient Babylon was not destroyed by plagues, so this is definitely another City called Babylon, and the context is in the End Time when Messiah Returns. These plagues are the plagues of the Trumpets and Vials of Revelation).

    Jeremiah 50:18 Therefore thus says Yahvah of hosts, the Eternal of Israel: Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Asyria.

    Comment: Within weeks of End-Time Babylon being destroyed, Messiah will welcome back to Jerusalem the returning Remnant of Israel and Judah, as the verses confirm.

    Jeremiah 50:4-5,19-20,38  (Revelation 16:12 The only waters at Babylon is the Euphrates River)

    Jeremiah 50:39-41 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell in it: and it shall be no more inhabited forever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. As when the Eternal overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities of it, says Yahvah, so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn in it. Behold, a people comes from the north; and a great nation and many kings shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth. (Daniel 11:44-45 = the “Kings” of the East, like Japan; China, & other Asian Nations).

    Jeremiah 50:42-46;  They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride upon horses, every one set in array, as a man to the battle against you O daughter of Babylon. The king of Babylon has heard the tidings of them, and his hands become feeble: anguish has taken hold of him and pangs as of a woman in travail. Behold, the enemy shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? Therefore hear counsel of Yahvah, that he has taken against Baylon; and his purpose, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them. At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembles, and the cry is heard among the nations.

    51:48-49,51,62 ; Then the heavens and the earth, and all that is in it, shall sing for joy over Babylon; for the destroyers shall come to her from the north, says Yahvah. As Babylon has caused the killed to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the killed of all the land. We are confounded, because we have heard reproach; confusion has covered our faces; for strangers have come into the sanctuaries of Yahvah’s house. And say, O Yahvah, you have spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that none shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate forever.

    Now let us look at what is prophesied to happen to the False, Counterfeit Religion of the Catholic “Mother Church”

    Revelation 17:3-5,18 And he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and then horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abomination, even the unclean things of her fornication., and upon her forehead a name written, Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth

    In Isaiah 47 is a prophecy about the destruction of this Babylonian Mystery Religion System that masquerades as “Yahvah’s Religion”. One of the 2 Witnesses (Gabriel, the 4th Elijah to come), will be warning the world about this false Babylonian Idolatrous Religion, and Gabriel will be using these verses in Isaiah 47 to do this.

    Isaiah 47:1-9  Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for you shall no more be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones, and grind meal, remove your veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers. Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and will spare no man. Our Redeemer, Yahvah of hosts is his name, the Righteous One of Israel. Sit silent, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for you shall no more be called. The mistress of kingdoms. I was angry with my people, I profaned my in heritance, and gave them into  your hand: you did show them no mercy; upon the aged have you very heavily laid your Yoke. And you said, I shall be mistress forever, so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter of it. Now therefore hear this, you are given to pleasures, that sit securely, that say in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: but these two things shall come to you in a moment in one day, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments. (See Revelation 18:8)

    Isaiah 7:10-11  And Yahvah spoke again Ahaz, saying, Ask a sign Yahvah your Eternal; ask it either in the depth of in the height above.

     (Comment: The Catholic Church “sold” salvation by accepting money for the absolution of

    sins by the Priests)

    Isaiah 47:12-15   Stand now with your enchantments, and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth; if so be able to profit, if so be you may prevail. You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels: let now the astrologers, the star-gazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from the things that shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before. In this manner shall the things be to you in which you have labored: They that have traded with you from your youth shall wander every one to his quarter; there shall be no one to save you.

    There is a parallel prophecy in Revelation 18 addressing the Systems of Satan. The Economic, Government & Religion Systems of Babylon will fall when they are destroyed at Messiah’s 2nd Coming.

    Likewise the City of Rome and the End-Time Babylon in Iraq will be destroyed, as we see from the prophecy in Revelation 18.

    Revelation 18:1-6 After these things I saw another Messenger coming down out of heaven, having great authority; and the earth was lightened with his splendor. And he cried with a mighty voice, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and has become a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird. For by the wine of the wrath of her fornication all the nations have fallen; and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth became rich by the power of her wantonness. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come forth my people, out of her, that you have no fellowship with her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues: for her sins have reached even to heaven, and Yahvah has remembered her iniquities. Render to her even as she rendered, and double the double which she mingled to her double.(See Jeremiah 25:15-16).

    Revelation 18:7-24 However much she glorified herself, and became wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning: for she says in her heart, I sit a queen and am no window, and shall in no wise see mourning. (Refer back to Isaiah 47:7 ) Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is Yahvah Eternal, who judged her.. (See Isaiah 47:9) And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived wantonly with her, shall weep, and wail over her, when they look upon the smoke of her burning, standing far off from the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city of Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment came. And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no man buys their merchandise any more; merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet; and all citron wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel made of most precious wood, and of copper, and iron, and marble; and cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and fine flour and wheat, and cattle, and sheep; and merchandise of horses and chariots and slaves; and souls of men. And the fruits which your soul lusted after are gone from you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous are perished from you, and men shall find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand far off from the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning; saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she that was arrayed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearl! For in one hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by the sea, stood far off, and cried out as they looked on the smoke of her burning, saying, What is like the great city? And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying woe, woe, the great city, in which all that had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! For in one hour she is made desolate. Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you chosen, and you apostles, and your prophets for the Eternal has judged your judgment on her. And a strong messenger took up a stone as it were a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with a mighty fall shall Babylon, the great city, be cast down, and shall be found no more at all. And the voice of harpers and the minstrels and flute-players and trumpeters shall be heard no more at all in you; and no craftsman, or whatever craft, shall be found any more at all in you; and the voice of a mill shall be heard no more at all in you; and the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in you: for your merchants were the  princes of the earth; for with your sorcery were all the nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets and of chosen, and of all that have been killed upon the earth.

    Zechariah 14:1-13 Behold, a day of Yahvah comes, when your plunder shall be divided in the middle of you. For I will gather all nations unto Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall Yahvah go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east; and the mount of Olives shall divide in the middle of it toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And you shall flee by the valley of my mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azel; yes, you shall flee, like as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah; and Yahvah my Eternal shall come, and all the righteous ones with you. And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall not be light; the bright ones shall withdraw themselves; but it shall be one day which is known to Yahvah; not day, and not night; but it shall come to pass, that at evening time there shall be light. And it shall come to pass in that day, the living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the eastern sea, and half of them toward the western sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And Yahvah shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall Yahvah be one, and his name one. All the land shall be made like the Arabah, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; and she shall be lifted up, and shall dwell in her place, from Benjamin’s gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. And men shall  dwell in it, and there shall be no more curse; but Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this shall be the plague with which Yahvah will strike all the peoples that have warred again Jerusalem: their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their sockets, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from Yahvah shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor.

    The Chosen of Messiah WIN IN THE END

    Daniel 7:18,22,27 But the chosen of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even forever and ever. Until the ancient of days come, and judgment was given to the chosen of the Most High, and the time came that the chosen possessed the kingdom. And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the chosen of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominations shall serve and obey him.

    These prophecies about End-Time Babylon will happen – because Yahvan says so. We as Yahvah’s “this generation will not pass till all these things be fulfilled” Chosen do not have many years left before our Saviour returns.

    Why has Yahvah given us these prophecies? Yahvah tells us He has given them TO US HIS CHOSEN so that we can understand the times and the seasons, AND GET OURSELVES READY.

    Matthew 24:33 even so you also, when you see all these things, you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the door.

    Mark 13:23 But take you heed: behold, I have told you all things before hand.

    Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign Yahvah will do nothing, except he reveals his secret to his servant the prophets.

    Revelation 1:1-3 The revelation of Yahvahosha the Messiah, which Yahvah gave him to show to his servants, even the things which must shortly come to pass: and he sent and signified it by his messenger to his servant John: who bore witness of the word of Yahvah, and of the testimony of Yahvahosha the Messiah, of all the things that he saw. Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things which are written in it: for the time is at hand.

    (We have seen how often Babylon – the City – the System – the False Religion – is discussed by Yahvah in the Book of Revelation)

    1 Thessalonians 5:1-6,8, 13,19-21 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that anything be written to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of Yahvah so comes as a thief in the night. When they are saying, Peace and safety, then suddenly destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief: for you are all sons of light, and sons of day: we are not  of the night, nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let  us watch and be sober. But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; for a helmet, the hope of salvation. And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. Quench not the Spirit; despise not prophesying; prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

    This verse 4 indicates that at the End we know when Messiah will Return!

    How do we know? Because we have studied the 7-Prophetic Biblical Proofs Yahvahosha has provided for this very reason, so that verse 4 becomes a fact “but you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief”.

     

     

    Matthew 24:3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of your coming, and what shall the sign of your coming, and of the consummation of the age?

    In 1 Thessalonians 5 Paul is saying we should let prophecy give us hope and mold us into people of faith and righteousness. You can be a “son of light and day” by taking seriously this and other unfolding warnings of prophecy.

    Let them move you to a change and a closer walk with Yahvah, your Creator.

    Luke 21:28 But you are they that have continued with me in my temptations;

    My Prayer for Yahvah’s Chosen: May these “Early Warning” End-time Prophecies of Yahvah motivate all of us to grow in faith and love for one another.

    John 13:34-35  A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that  you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another

    May these prophecies motivate us all, no matter where we are scattered in the world – to a reawakening – to a renewal and a closer walk & relationship with our Father and His Son.

    And we do see That Day approaching.
