  • @BroDoc - I agree that spreading the message is immensely important bro, but it isn't necessary for me to go anywhere to do that! More people pass my house walking by each day than I could possibly talk to! I go on a mission trip every single day bro, right out to my chair on the front porch, where I can see people coming and stroll on over to the curb to talk to them at every opportunity. I haven't been more than a couple blocks from my house a handful of times in the past four years or so, and yet I've done more witnessing in those few years than I did my whole life leading up to them, and quite a few of the people I've spoken with since then are the very ones I now describe as my brothers and sisters on the block! God is good my brother!

    Check this my beloved brother...

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. (Pro 16:9)

Boink lol. Anyone Father wills to be spoken to by me will be brought across my path by HIM! They may be walking the dog, or strolling to the local store, or doing whatever they set out to do, but by God's will, when they cross my path, I know what to do! Folks tell me I need to do some steppin' all the time, but I say...

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (1Co 2:5) Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. (1Co 16:13) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Eph 6:11)Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Eph 6:13-17)

Am I making any sense to you bro? The time I spend going anywhere, just getting there, is a waste of time! It isn't necessary, and not only that, but people are more receptive just strolling down the street than they are when they're rushing around in the world. They are willing to spend time talking to you, not just politely listen for a few seconds and then excuse their hasty retreat. For times when I think a larger audience is appropriate, there's the internet.

    Peace bro

  • @BroDoc - Oh yeah, in re walking or driving a mile... Only suicidals walk on public thoroughfares here, there are no sidewalks or pedestrian lanes. I'm fortunate to live in a small subdivision on a mile around kidney bean shaped circle that has the only pedestrian lane I know of anywhere close to here. It draws walkers from all over town! But try walking to the mall a mile from here and we'll be scraping you off the pavement my man lol.

  • @AOK4WAY - Getting out Bro. Tony is a good way to meet people, but driving a mile down  road? lazy people do that unless they can't walk that far.
But we do as Religious people need to be out talking to others about their salvation. Bro. Doc

  • @ellie1945 - I'm so glad to hear that Ellie! Kudos to you, please keep it up and encourage others to see the good in it! People like to point fingers at corporate monstrosities like Amoco BP, Shell, Exxon, and others, and accuse them of being evil and destroying the earth for profit, but they don't see that WE are the ones who PAY those corporations to RAPE the earth and poison it, and we need to STOP! Take the profit out of it and they will stop.

And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. (Rev 11:16-19)

Let's hope some runaround christians will take that to heart! Peace be with you, Ellie

  • @AOK4WAY - You have that right...Instead of driving, use a bike, or even walk.....I do a lot of walking....

  • I think the best thing we can all do for the earth is quit all this ridiculous running around and going going going places, whether the mall a mile away or around the world to visit different countries. People are always telling me that I need to "get out" more, that I need to hit a mall or go out to eat or go see a movie, and my question to them is always the same... Why? Why should I want to leave the place on earth God gave me to be mine, where I have peace, where my needs are provided for? It seems to me that "christians" everywhere have fallen for the seduction and really do believe that "getting out" is a must, a prerequisite for happiness and "healthy adjustment". How deluded they are, and how the earth pays for the lie!

Peace be with you Doc, and belated happy Earth Day.
