    Cooking Woes

    Becky prepared a pasta dish for a dinner party she was giving. In her haste, however, she forgot to refrigerate the spaghetti sauce, and it sat on the counter all day. She was worried about spoilage, but it was too late to cook up another batch.

    She called the local Poison Control Center and voiced her concern. They advised Becky to boil the sauce again.

    That night, the phone rang during dinner, and one of the guests volunteered to answer it. Becky's face dropped as the guest called out, "It's the Poison Control Center. They want to know how the spaghetti sauce turned out."

    1. Dogs will tilt their heads and try to understand every word you say. Cats will ignore you and take a nap.

    The Protection of Self-Control

    "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls."

    Alexander the Great was a conquering, military genius like few others in history. But though he commanded great armies, he frequently struggled with the control of his anger. At a banquet held to celebrate a victory, flattering courtiers heaped praise on the young leader. In the process someone made remarks which downplayed the courage and achievements of the Macedonian Hetairoi—the Companion Cavalry that was the elite of Alexander’s army. Their general Clitus was enraged and spoke out to remind Alexander they had saved his life in a recent battle.

    Clitus told Alexander that he was being flattered by those who told him only what he wanted to hear and were trying to drive a wedge between the conqueror and his most loyal supporters. Alexander did not receive that rebuke well. While he looked for a sword to strike his loyal general, friends ushered Clitus from the room. But Clitus soon returned through another door to continue his rebuke. Alexander snatched a spear from a guard and hurled it into Clitus’ body, killing him. Afterward Alexander repented, but it was too late to undo his rash act. It is said that for several days he refused to eat or drink, mourning the death of his friend. Alexander conquered many great cities and empires, but he could not conquer his anger.

    Paul wrote, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law” (Galatians 5:22-23). Temperance is what we often refer to as self-control. It is the ability to submit to the Holy Spirit and respond properly, to resist temptation, to defer anger, and control frustration. A person who has no self-control is demonstrating that the Holy Spirit is not in control in his life.

    Today’s Proverbs Precept: 
    As you yield to the Holy Spirit and walk in His leading, you will exhibit the fruit of temperance.

  • SABBATH SERMON 5/25/13 THE EVIL OF ISRAEL AND JUDAH BEFORE THE RETURN OF MESSIAH PART 1

    Introduction

    Recently, I felt that I would gain more insight into the Millennium and the Great White Throne Judgment Period (the 100 year period that the people

    who are to come up in the 2nd resurrection live), if I made a study of the references to these periods as given by Yahvah through the eyes of His prophets (from Isaiah to Malachi).

     

    Resulting from, what we have here is a Sermon titled

    “Evil Israel & Judah preceding the Return of Messiah”. These verses

    were an eye-opener to me, because we are living so close (actually

    with-in) physical Israel, that we may lose sight of how evil they really

    are. We can so easily succumb to an attitude that they are really OK,

    and “good people”, and forget that “the carnal mind is the enemy of Yahvah, and

    is not subject to the Law of Yahvah [love], and cannot please Yahvah (Romans 8:7-8)

     

    We must therefore see things through Yahvah’s eyes.

    These verses show us clearly how Yahvah sees

    Israel and Judah in the End-Times.

     

    If we truly have developed the Mind of Messiah, then we

    will see the World through the eyes of Messiah, and not

    through our human eyes.

     

    1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of Yahvah, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Messiah.

     

    In this regard it behooves us to follow the example of Lot. While he

    was staying in Sodom, he never lost sight of their evil, or became too

    absorbed in their Ways & sin. He could see Sodom for what it truly

    was.

     

    2Peter 2:7-9 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds: Yahvah knoweth how to deliver the righteous out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.

     

    Yes, we as Yahvah’s People should all be seeing things through the

    eyes of Yahvah. For example; do you see Jerusalem today as being

    in the same evil category as Sodom? You should; because Yahvah

    says that End-Time Jerusalem will be comparable to Sodom.

     

    Revelation 11:8 Their dead bodies (the 2 Witnesses) will lie in the street of the great

    city that is spiritually called Sodomand Egypt, where their Saviour was impaled.

     

    Background to the prophecies

     

    1. Israel and Judah are addressed continuously from Isaiah to

    Malachi as pertaining to their sins against YAHVAH the Eternal AND their

    fellow man.

    2. These prophets themes are one of contrasting the sins of the

    Houses of Israel and Judah on the one hand and Yahvah's eventual

    punishment on them for this sin; and His subsequent mercy on them

    during the Millennium.

    3. These verses apply today to the Modern Day Israelites, and Modern

    Day Judah, who are the Jews.

    4. The descendants of Avraham, Isaac and Jacob are destined to be

    attacked and taken as slaves and prisoners by the Beast Power (the

    EU) just after Satan is thrown down to the Earth after having lost his

    battle against Michael the Archangel. There are also many references

    from Isaiah to Malachi of how the Eternal takes out His anger on them

    during the Day of YAHVAH, which co-insides with the last year of the

    Tribulation.

     

    READING THESE VERSES AND CRY FOR THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE.

     

    Ezekiel 9:4 And Yahvah said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

     

    4. When reading these verse, keep in mind the Modern Deity of the

    Israelites today = MATERIALISM = the worship of things = Hedonism;

    the worship of Pleasure; and the worship of SELF (from which comes

    pride & vanity)

     

    5. Note that this is ho Yahvah sees Israel and Judah's sins. We might

    see some people in the world as good people, but Yahvah seems clearly

    to view them differently, seeing the whole nation as evil. Remember,

    breaking His Sabbath every 7th day is evil, keeping abominable

    feasts like Easter and Xmas is evil, blaspheming His name incessantly is evil, etc.

    Let us read these verses; Isaiah 5:12, 20, 24 And the harp and the voil, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feast: but they regard not the work of YAHVAH, neither consider the operation of his hands. Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!     I have highlighted these verses  showing what Yahvah’s reaction is to their continuous evil, namely national captivity by the Beast power after 90% of Israel’s people have been killed. Therefore we dare not see them as good, when YAVAH callsthem evil. See them through the eyes of Yahvah.

     

    Furthermore, we as YAHVAH’S Chosen need to remember that: “…. ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”(John 15:19). We are also toldvery directly to come “out of Babylon”

     Revelation 18:4 And I heard anothervoice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not  partakers of hersins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

     

    Isaiah 2:6-22 Therefore thou has forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.     The End of Sloth

    "Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man."

    Proverbs 24:33-34

    Some people refer to Paul Railton of Consett, England, as the laziest man in the world. That would be difficult to prove, but his legal troubles certainly provide evidence that he is in the running for the title. In December of 2009, Railton was reported to the authorities by a cyclist who saw him “walking” his dog by driving his car slowly and holding the leash out the car window! Railton pled guilty to a charge of “not being in proper control of a vehicle” and was fined sixty-six pounds and ordered not to drive for six months.

    As our society moves further and further away from valuing hard work, we are seeing a rise in laziness. This disease is undermining not just the foundations of our nation, but it is striking at the church as well. It is always easy to justify taking it easy. While there is a place for rest—following the pattern God established in the beginning of Creation by resting on the seventh day—few in our age are suffering from overwork. Instead too many continually “hit the snooze button” and waste their lives through laziness.

    However much we would like to think otherwise, there always comes a day of reckoning for laziness. No good intention can overcome the law of work which God has placed in the universe. When we do not labor, eventually the consequences arrive. Taking the easy way out in the present always damages the future—and it will never produce the desired result. Charles Spurgeon said, “There is no fatigue so wearisome as that which comes from lack of work.” Take the tasks which you find before you and give them your full effort.

    Today’s Proverbs Precept: 
    Laziness may bring temporary perceived benefits, but in the end it always results in disaster.

    CHAPTER 22

    1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel. 2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God. 3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight; 4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David. 5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it.     CHAPTER 23

    1 So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel. 2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites. 3 Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand. 4 Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges: 5 Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith. 6 And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 7 Of the Gershonites were, Laadan, and Shimei. 8 The sons of Laadan; the chief was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three. 9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three.     CHAPTER 24

    1 Now these are the divisions of the sons of Aaron.
