  • There is Bad News with 2.0

In having ask Joel a couple of questions about 2.0 and when it comes on board about dues.

The sad reality is my friends either you have the 48 dollars to pay the dues each year for the use of 2.0 or you will not be able to blog.

If you have premium you will convert what is left of it too the 2.0 and still have to pay dues.

So the facts are if you do not have the 48 dollars for the dues, you can’t blog on 2.0.

In my humble opinion  this will be the death of Xanga, because lots on here do not have that extra money to use 2.0.

There still are lots of fine places you can blog and do things for free.

Which would you take the pay here or the free if it was just as nice as here?

“The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.”

    Proverbs 11:5-6

In his short story How Much Land Does a Man Require? Leo Tolstoy tells of a peasant named Pakhom who is not content with his lot in life. He believes that if he had more land, he would be content. Pakhom sets out to buy more land, working hard to get the money to acquire more and more, but contentment continues to elude him. His possessive nature leads to arguments with his neighbors, and he finds himself unable to trust anyone.

Finally he hears of a simple group of people known as the Bashkirs who own huge plots of land. Pakhom goes to them and makes an arrangement. For the sum of one thousands rubles, they will give him as much land as he can walk around in a single day. The catch to the deal is that if he fails to return to the starting point before the sun sets, he will forfeit all his money and receive no land. Starting early in the morning, Pakhom begins to walk, going far to ensure he will receive as much land as possible. Late in the day he realizes he has gone too far and begins running back. He reaches the line just as the sun sets—and falls dead. Pakhom is buried in a grave six feet long, answering the question in the title of the story.

When we allow any sinful desire to linger in our hearts, it will not stay small. Instead it will continue to grow and grow until it takes control of our lives. When we tolerate wickedness inwardly, it will eventually be expressed outwardly, and it will lead, as sin always does, to death.

    Today’s Proverbs Precept:
If we do not long control our lusts and desires—they quickly capture us and lead us to destruction.

    Psalm 81

    PSALM 81

To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph.

1 Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. 2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. 3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. 4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob. 5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not. 6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots. 7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me; 9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god. 10 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. 11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. 12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels. 13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! 14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. 15 The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. 16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

    PSALM 82

    A Psalm of Asaph.

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. 2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

    PSALM 83

A Song or Psalm of Asaph.

1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. 2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. 4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. 5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: 6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; 7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: 10 Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: 12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. 13 O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. 14 As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; 15 So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. 17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: 18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

    New Testament Reading
    Romans 11:19

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

    Proverb of the Day
    Proverbs 11

1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight. 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. 4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. 5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. 7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth. 8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead. 9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. 10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. 11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. 12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. 13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. 14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. 15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. 16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches. 17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. 18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. 19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. 20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. 21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered. 22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion. 23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath. 24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. 26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. 27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. 28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. 29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart. 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. 31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

DECEPTION IN THE END TIMES Pt 1

PART 1: TRUE & FALSE CONVERSION

    1.THE CORE OF THE GOSPEL

In my  52 years as a saved person, I have witnessed scores of Religious friends get

into false doctrine of different kinds. I am not talking about other religions like  Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam but deviate forms of Religion;  Yahvahosha made a

statement that few Brethren have understood concerning this departure:

“…Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Lk 18:8b

Yahvahosha was not speaking of personal faith but asking  if the Gospel would still be preached when  He came back. If we look at the verses after this statement, it

Becomes clear that this was not taken out of context.

Lk 18: 9-14 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, Yahvah, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, Yahvah be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Salvation in Messiah is the core of the Gospel.

II.TAMPERING WITH THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION

Let me begin with the worst type of deviation of false doctrine which is fatal to the

person developing it and to the people who buy into it.

Rev 22:18-21 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, Yahvah shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Yahvah shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Halleluyah. Even so come, Saviour Yahvahosha. The unmerited favour of our Saviour Yahvahosha Messiah be with you all. Halleluyah.

1.The doctrine of salvation in Pentecostal assemblies teaches that you are saved by unmerited favour, but you must stop sinning all the time in order to keep it.

If you sin all the time, you never had  salvation and need to be saved. You are never once saved always saved no matter what you do.

2.There is also  the circular  teaching that you must speak in tongues in order to be saved, you cannot speak in tongues unless you have been baptized in the Holy Ghost, and if you do not speak in tongues, you are not saved.

This is a fringe doctrine that is common in the United Pentecostal Churches and

independent fringe Pentecostal churches like those following William Sowders (1879

    -1952) and others.

3.Ellen G. White of  the Seventh Day Adventists taught that you had to keep

the Sabbath on Saturdays, baptized in a SDA Church and be a vegetarian

    to be saved.

Salvation is not based on being a Sabbath Keeper or be vegetarian. But when we know the truth I believe we will need to be keeping the Sabbath to be part of His Kingdom.

4.The different Catholic Assemblies (Roman, Greek, Russian, etc.) teach that salvation is of the assembly and that membership in the Assembly saves a person. To be a member, you must be baptized through sprinkling, go through confirmation, take communion, attend mass on Sundays, confess your sins to a priest on a regular

    Basis and pray to Mary.

Nothing says in Scripture that you have to do any of those things to be saved or part of the Assembly.

5.Then there are denominations and organizations like the Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational Churches, the Salvation Army Baptist, Pentecostal, etc. that have lost their way during the years.

They are no longer the firebrands they once were in the 19th century. They no longer preach that people must be born again, but emphasize social outreaches, liberal causes, some accept homosexual clergy and even perform homosexual marriages. The common message is to become a good person and becoming a member of the Assembly makes them a part of the Messiah and have Salvation.

6.The Unitarian Assemblies do not believe in the divinity of Yahvahosha and deny that salvation comes through Him. Carlton Pearson broke away from his Pentecostal roots in the last century when he declared hell to be non-existent. He believes in universal reconciliation, meaning that everyone will be saved and go to heaven.

Evangelist and radio speaker Bob George teaches that a person is not saved by unmerited favor, but exclusively by faith. He believes that once you are saved,

you don’t need to ask Yahvah to forgive you of sins you might commit after salvation.

This is just a small sampling of false teaching on salvation. Having shown you some of the errors, let’s examineScriptural salvation step by step.

    II.THERE MUST BE A SAVIOR

In order to receive salvation, there must be a Saviour. Yahvah only offers one eternal

    Savior.

Hebrews 9:11-28 But Messiah being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the Most Set Apart Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to Yahvah, purged your conscience from dead works to serve the living Yahvah? And for this cause he is the mediator of the Restored Covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgression that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a covenant is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a covenant is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Whereupon neither the first covenant was dedicated without blood. For Moshe had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the books, and all the people, Saying, This, is the blood of the covenant which Yahvah hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these;. But the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Messiah is not entered into the Most Set Apart Place made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Yahvah for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the Most Set Apart place every year with the blood of others. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men  once to die, but after this the judgment: So Messiah was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

    III. RESTORED COVENANT

Here is what the Restored Covenant has to say about salvation:

1.The word “salvation” refers to being saved from being burnt up in Hell fire. Not being there forever.

    .

Mt 25:41 Then shall he say unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Revelation 20:10-15 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Yahvah; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life were cast into the lake of fire.

2.Since all people living on earth will die and there actually is a Hell and a Lake of Fire, (Where you are burnt up), it is of great importance to tell them of the way to escape being burnt up.. Yahvahosha said a person must be “born again.”

Jn 3:1-8 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; The same came to Yahvahosha by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from Yahvah: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except Yahvah be with him. Yahvahosha answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he can not see the kingdom of Yahvah. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Yahvahosha answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of Yahvah. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is bon of the spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it liseth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

3.To be born again a person must believe that Yahvahosha was the Messiah and took the  punishment for sin on Himself.

4.How does a person become born again? The Apostle Peter provided the answer.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the time of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Saviour.

5.Repentance is the key to salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 That if thous shalt confess with thy mouth the Saviour Yahvahosha, and shalt believe in thine heart that Yahvah hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

6.As many as receive Messiah will become the sons of Yahvah.Jn 1:12-13

7.The penalty for sin was paid by Yahvahosha on the stake. Man cannot  earn salvation

through good works; it is a gift and comes by unmerited favor, not by works.

Eph 2:8-10 For by unmerited favor are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of Yahvah: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yahvahosha unto good works, which Yahvah hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    Consider the End

    By Paul Chappell

      Saturday, Aug 10, 2013

“He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”

    Proverbs 10:9

Chilon of Sparta was considered one of the wisest men of the ancient world. Acclaimed as one of the Seven Sages of Greece, he was instrumental in bringing about the Peloponnesian League which greatly strengthened the city of Sparta. Chilon is probably best remembered for his motto, which was rendered into Latin as finem respice—consider the end. That was good advice six centuries before Christ was born, and it is good advice today.

Every path we choose leads to a destination. The path of upright and godly living leads in one direction. The path of perverted and ungodly living leads to a different place. It is not always possible (though often apparent) to immediately discern where a person is headed, but if you watch them long enough, it will become clear. Even before a person reaches the conclusion of his path, whether it is right or not, it becomes plain where he is going. There is no way for us to conceal our direction and escape the consequences of our choices forever.

Eventually the day of reckoning comes. But that day is not the product of random chance or circumstance. Instead it is the culmination of a series of choices. Some will reach the end and hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). Others who have never placed their trust in Christ will hear, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:23).

Over the years as I have counseled people who are dealing with sin, I’ve seen that they rarely considered the consequences of what they were about to do. If they had considered the end at the beginning, they might well have made a different decision. Instead of falling for the lie of the present, we should always consider the future when we are tempted and do what is right.

    Today’s Proverbs Precept:
The way you decide to walk today determines the destination you will reach tomorrow.

    Old Testament Reading
    Psalm 79

    PSALM 79

    A Psalm of Asaph.

1 O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps. 2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth. 3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them. 4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us. 5 How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name. 7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place. 8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low. 9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name’s sake. 10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed. 11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die; 12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord. 13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

    PSALM 80

To the chief Musician upon Shoshannimeduth, A Psalm of Asaph.

1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. 2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. 3 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. 4 O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? 5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. 6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. 7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. 9 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. 10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. 11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. 12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? 13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. 14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; 15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. 17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. 18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. 19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

    New Testament Reading
    Romans 11:1

1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, 3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. 4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway. 11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. 15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? 16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

    Proverb of the Day
    Proverbs 10

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. 3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. 25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. 28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
